Soft solder

Soft solder is a versatile material used in joining metals through a low-temperature soldering process. It is typically composed of tin-lead or lead-free alloys, often including elements like silver, copper, or bismuth to enhance its performance. Soft solder melts at temperatures below 450°C, making it ideal for delicate applications where higher heat could damage components.

Soft solder creates a strong, reliable bond by flowing into the joint and forming a metallurgical connection between the materials. It is widely used in electronics, plumbing, and jewelry-making due to its ease of application, good conductivity, and clean finish. Lead-free soft solder is increasingly popular in compliance with environmental and safety standards like RoHS.

Available in various forms, such as wire, bar, and paste, soft solder is an indispensable material for achieving precise, high-quality joints across multiple industries.
