Effective for soldering copper and copper alloys, mild and low-alloyed steel, as well as tungsten carbide (hard metal).
Typically used in conjunction with brass solder.
Flux residues are corrosive and insoluble in water, thus should be removed mechanically either by sandblasting or grinding after completing the soldering process.
