SAC305 is a lead-free solder that has found widespread use in the electronics industry due to environmental and health concerns (see the RoHS directive).
Advantages of the lot include:
- Good electrical conductivity, reliable mechanical strength, good wetting properties, applicable to both SMT and THT soldering.
Disadvantages of soldering include:
- Higher costs due to the amount of silver in the solder, higher melting point than lead solder.
